We're in the middle of football season and, everywhere you go, you'll see people in team jerseys and colors; even at mass. Gus invites listeners to call in and share whether or not it's appropriate to wear team gear to Sunday mass.
Later, Gus is joined in the Conversion Corner by Nikki Kingsley who grew up in Africa in the Muslim faith. She was forced into an arranged marriage to a man who simply viewed her as an object. She and her husband eventually separated and she fled the United States with her two young children and sought God more passionately. She talks with Gus about her journey to Catholicism. You can read about her conversion story in greater detail in her book "Thirst for Truth: From Mohammed to Jesus."
And, EWTN News' Dr. Matthew Bunson calls in to talk about a few pressing Catholic news topics, including another diocese in Canada, Grand Falls, refusing to allow unvaccinated Catholics to attend mass. In September, the Diocese of Moncton issued a vaccine mandate for mass attendance but rescinded it several days later. Gus and Dr. Bunson also discuss the Supreme Court agreeing to hear challenges to the Texas Heartbeat Law.
