Today's Gospel reading contains perhaps the most famous Bible chapter and verse reference in John 3:16. To some, it's the most famous Bible verse. Some call it the Bible in a nutshell. It reads, "God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. Gus asks listeners to call in and tell him what the Bible is in their estimation.
Also, in today's First Reading from Acts of the Apostles, Gus talks about the apostles landing in prison, which would become a common theme in all their ministries. He invites listeners who've had personal experience, or know someone who has, with prison or jail and how that affected them.
