Gus talks about a note that was put in his parish's past Sunday bulletin by the sacristan which read: "Ladies! Please blot your lipstick before receiving the Precious Blood at Communion. Lipstick stains are very difficult to remove from the purificators (white cloths) we use to wipe the chalice. Thank you for your consideration!" Gus' parish deacon, Peter Burns, comes on the program to explain the job of the sacristan and the importance of the purificators and the vessels. Afterwards, Gus talks with listeners about the lipstick issue on purificators. Many callers, including sacristans and some in linen ministry, call in with solutions, both ideas and liquids, to help solve the issue.
Also, it's vacation time again so Gus asks listeners what they do when it comes to mass while on vacation. Do they seek out a Catholic church to fulfill their Sunday obligation and do they give to its collection? Do they also still give to their home parish while on vacation?
I had to stop listening before the show was over. Did anyone give specific brand recommendations for the lipstick?
We always search for a nearby Catholic Church while on Vacation which is easy especially with the internet. Also we do give our weekly offering to our home parish since they do need our support in all seasons
