Gus is joined by Dr. Mary Cuff, author of the new book, “Mother to Mother: Spiritual Wisdom from Cloister to Home,” available from TAN Books. In it, she introduces moms to contemplative nuns who have offered their insight of the common struggles of motherhood. It also serves as a meditation upon the vocation of motherhood as both lay and religious mothers strive to be models of the Mother of God. Two big focuses on Dr. Cuff’s book are homeschooling and stay-at-home motherhood. After wrapping up with her, Gus invites listeners who are stay-at-home moms to call in and share what led to that decision and how that has affected them.
Also, Gus talks about an online poll that went badly for the Vatican. On Friday, the Synod on Synodality posted a poll on their X and Facebook accounts, asking followers the question, “Do you believe that synodality as a path of conversion and reform can enhance the mission and participation of all the baptized?” The complex, heady question only had responses of yes and no and, on X, 88% responded “No.” Nearly 800 people responded on Facebook with an equally negative response. The Synod ended up deleting both posts. Gus takes that question to the listeners to see if they can respond to it.
And this week, more than 50,000 pilgrims representing 88 dioceses across 20 European countries have descended upon Rome to participate in the 13th International Pilgrimage of Altar Servers. Gus talks about some of his experiences altar serving as a kid and invited listeners who are servers or have served to call in and share their memories or funny stories.
Hi Gus,
Is there a way to be able to send just the segment you had with Dr Mary Cuff. She did a wonderful job on sharing the trails and struggles of young moms and thinking mothers are to be able to do everything, I’d like to send to my daughter, it would be a great message of hope and a bit of information that moms cant do it all even though we think we can!
AND another great segment, by the way!
Thank you!
Maggie
