Friday was the opening of the Olympic Summer Games in Paris, and the traditional Opening Ceremony was held. This one generated a lot of buzz as it featured a controversial scene depicting a living rendition of Leonardo DaVinci’s iconic painting of the Last Supper, but with drag queens, children, half naked people and a guy painted blue. It sparked a large amount of backlash from Christians worldwide who believed it made a mockery of that holy depiction. Gus gives his thoughts on it and invites listeners to call in and give theirs.
Later, Gus welcomes Jacob Zumo to the show. He’s a Catholic artist based in Baton Rouge, but he wasn’t always that way. The young painter got his professional start doing live paintings at rap concerts, which eventually led to his conversion. He shares that story with Gus and his listeners as well as from where he gets his inspiration.
And since it's Monday, Gus does a round of Tell Me Something Good with listeners.
