Catholic author Michele Chynoweth joins Gus today to talk about her latest novel, "The Jealous Son," which is a modern-day murder mystery based off the Bible story of Cain and Abel in the Book of Genesis.
Also, during yesterday's Tell Me Something Good segment, a listener called in and talked about how a random stranger helped him change a tire while he and his family were on their way to a wedding. Gus invites listeners to call in who either experienced or offered a random act of kindness.
And, Gus reads a story out of Argyle, Texas, where a "visionary" claims to have been visited by the Blessed Virgin Mary seven times and has issued seven "messages." The bishop of the diocese of Fort Worth, Texas, Michael Fors Olson, issued a statement that he has not approved the apparitions after erroneous messages on social media stated the contrary. In light of that, Gus reminds listeners that Catholics are not required to believe in private apparitions, even ones that have been canonically approved by the Vatican, and gets listeners' feelings about private revelations and talks with more than a few who say they had their own private revelations.
