Gus talks about a political homily he heard recently where the priest masterfully wove politics into his homily without singling out any one political party. He asks listeners if they've ever heard a political homily, what it was about and how they felt about it.

Also, today is Gus' grandson Becket's first day of school ever and his daughter Emily is having a difficult time with it. Anyone who's a parent has been through this. Gus talks about his recollections of all his kids' first days of schools and talks with listeners about theirs.

And, it wouldn't be a Seize the Day Monday without a little Tell Me Something Good.

So enjoyed your comments today. Hopefully, your son and your grandson had encouraging experiences today. It is scary starting as a new teacher and a new all day Kindergartener. It was scary for me when I was teaching. I am a retired teacher. Our grandchildren were also very happy after school. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘for teachers!

When are many of the clergy, particularly those who speak to the public on radio shows and TV so against President Trump?
He is the only one talking about God, religious freedom, pro-life legislation, family, etc.
The other side is against all of these and more. Most importantly allowing folks to change their God-given gender. The Catholic church needs to re-think their focus. Immigration is not the only issue. The left is demonizing our lives and all that is being done by the church is to bash Pres Trump. PLEASE STOP. you don’t realize the evil we will face if the other side is allowed to carry out what they want. To them there is NO RELIGION!
