Catholic author Bret Thoman calls in to talk about a new book that he helped translate called "The Pandemic of Padre Pio: Disciple of Our Lady of Sorrows." The book talks about how, just over 100 years ago, there was another worldwide pandemic going on called the Spanish flu and Padre Pio contracted it. He talks about Padre Pio's life, which included having the stigmata and having the ability to take on other peoples' sufferings. He also talks about how, through his sufferings, Padre Pio became a disciple of Our Lady of Sorrows.

Based on his discussion with Bret about Padre Pio's physical and spiritual maladies, Gus invites listeners to call in and share how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected them physically and spiritually.

    Dear Mr. Lloyd,
I was able to listen to part of your XM radio program last Wednesday morning about the topic of fear of the virus among the members of the church’s congregations, and I listened to the stories of people who were able to talked to you on the phone. I tried to call you also but I was unable to get thru. I was going to share with you the reading of Fr. Bing Arellano dated March 12, 2021 titled " Fighting Against Tyranny Of Fear" which was very relevant to what you were discussing. Fr. Arellano emphasized the Supernatural power of the Eucharist defeating the fear of the deadly pandemic of 1920 in Torino, Italy, which killed 20,000 people, as told by St. Don Bosco. Here is the link to the video site of Fr. Bing Arellano’s Spiritual Reading " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_JWN4_tbPk " I hope you could relate this to your audience and help them gain back their lost confidence with the help of the supernatural power of the Holy Eucharist! May the Lord Jesus Be With You and Your Family Always!
