Gus talks about today's First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles where St. Peter admonishes the Jews for crucifying Jesus but shows compassion in saying he recognizes they did it out of ignorance. They didn't recognize him as the Christ. He does, however, continue that they are no longer ignorant and have to do some soul searching. Gus invites listeners to call in about a time in their lives when they were ignorant of their faith and how God brought them out of it.
Also, Gus is joined by classical singer and mezzo soprano Hannah Magnelli who talks about Pope St. John Paul II's Letter to Artists, which was issued 22 years ago this week. In it, the late pontiff, who was an artist himself, encourages all artists to seek God in their work and encourages them to reflect God in their creative endeavors. Hannah talks about how she tries to do that and about what it's been like for artists during this time of COVID.
Inspired by his conversation with Hannah, who does sing in her church, Gus invites listeners to call in who do serve at mass as a cantor, a musician, a lector, or anything else, to call in and share how COVID has affected their ministry.
