Today is the Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta, aka Mother Teresa Gus shares some interesting facts about her life and influence.
We also feature a bevy of guests today starting with Fr. Leo Patalinghug who calls us from a diner. He and Gus discuss a number of faith-filled and fun topics, including today’s Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta, aka Mother Teresa. Fr. Leo shares his lone encounter with the saint and the mysterious bit of advice she offered him that he didn’t reveal itself until many years later. He also talks about the work he’s done with her order, the Missionaries of Charity, over the years. He also gives his reaction to the school shooting in Barrow County, Georgia yesterday that took the lives of four people and injured nine others.
Later, Catholic author/speaker Mark Hart of Lifeteen calls in to talk about his latest book, “Biblical Heroes: Stories of Faith and Courage,” available from Ascension Press. Mark talks about how the illustrated book is designed for young teachers but is also enjoyable for adults. Mark talks about how he felt that many illustrated scripture study books address that demographic incorrectly. To him, they always seemed geared more to grade school kids and he sought to make something more suited to young teens. Also, on this day of Mother Teresa, Gus asks Mark to give his reflection on the great contemporary saint.
And, lastly, Bob Dunning calls in to talk a little college football with Gus. They discuss what’s going on with Florida State, the dream of dotting the I at an Ohio State football game and pick winners of some of the biggest matchups this weekend.
