Gus talks about the latest issue taken up by the Amazon Synod, the ecology. The pope, the bishops and all others in attendance are discussing the Church's role in preserving the environment and whether or not there are such things as "ecological sins." Gus asks listeners about this very notion.

Also, Gus reads a story from Catholic News Agency with the shocking headline, "Did Pope Francis Say That Jesus Isn't God?" The article talks about another one of those infamous informal discussions between the pope and the 95-year-old Italian atheist journalist Dr. Eugenio Scalfari. In a published column in La Repubblica, the Italian newspaper Scalfari founded, he alleges that, in a private conversation some time ago, Pope Francis confessed his belief after Scalfari pointed out some of Jesus' more human moments in the Gospel, like in the Garden of Gethsemane. "They are the definite proof that Jesus of Nazareth, once he became a man, even if he was a man of exceptional value, was not a God." The Vatican has denied Scalfari's claim, saying that this was his interpretation of what the pope said. Gus says that it may be in the pope's best interest to stop having these types of conversations with Dr. Eugenio Scalfari. He gets listener comments.

And, Bob Dunning calls in and predicts the winners, along with Gus, of this weekend's biggest college football games.
