Today is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, so Gus kicks the show off by talking about the example of the foster-father of Jesus Christ and the reason why the feast day was established by Pope Pius XII in 1955. It was a Christian response to the dignity of the worker, which had been corrupted by the Russian communist party in order to gain power.

Afterwards, Gus picks back up from where he left off yesterday with his Adopt-a-Cardinal campaign that he co-opted from a prayer campaign instituted by the Pontifical Missions Society USA. There are 135 cardinal-electors for the papal conclave, which begins on Wednesday, May 7th, so Gus encourages listeners to call in and randomly picks a cardinal who they can pray for during the entire conclave process.
