Gus is joined from Rome by retired Cardinal Edwin O’Brien, the former cardinal archbishop for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland and the Archdiocese of the Military Services. Cardinal O’Brien talks with Gus about the ins and outs and processes of the conclave that he’s allowed to discuss. He also talks about the events the cardinals participate in to get to know each other better in the days leading up to the conclave and the enormous but holy burden placed on him during the conclave that elected Pope Francis and how he felt once it was all over.

Afterwards, Gus picks back up with Adopt-a-Cardinal where he encourages listeners to call in and assigns each one of the 133 cardinal-electors for next week’s conclave. We’re about halfway through and Gus says that his goal is to assign a Seize the Day prayer warrior for each cardinal.

Also, Gus dedicates a couple of segments for Friday Prayer Time, and since today is the Feast of St. Athanasius, Gus goes back to Book I of William F. Jurgens “Faith of the Early Fathers” and reads and reflects on his “Treatise on the Incarnation of the Word” for today's edition of Friday w/the Fathers.
