Gus talks about his experiences over the last 25 years of speaking at Catholic men’s conferences and one of his favorite topics is men being the spiritual leaders of their households. He talks about how it’s traditionally been that way, but in recent decades, seems to have been abrogated for various reasons. He also believes that wives desire that their husbands take on a spiritual leadership role in their homes and invites listeners to call in and share their opinions and experiences.

Also, Kathryn Jean Lopez calls in to talk about her book, “A Year with the Mystics: Visionary Wisdom for Daily Living,” which came out in 2019, but she’s promoting for summer reading. She shares what readers can expect in these daily spiritual nuggets she’s compiled and the etymology of how the book came about.

And Bob Dunning stops by for his weekly appearance and he and Gus play a word game with Gus called “Stream of Consciousness.” Gus explains the rules, but it doesn’t go like he’d hoped. They also discuss marathons and Bob’s experience running a half-marathon.
