For our retreat, here are the stories of Jesus from which you can choose. Remember, choose one with which you may not be so familiar, or that you would like to meditate on more deeply. Put yourself in the story. You can concentrate on a word or phrase, or a theme that the Lord is putting on your heart. Pray before and after reading the passage, and allow the Lord to speak His word into your heart.
Luke 18: 9-14 - The Pharisee and the Tax Collector
Matthew 13: 1-9, 18-23 - Parable of the Sower
Luke 15: 11-32 - The Prodigal Son
Matthew 20: 1-16 - The Workers in the Vineyard
Luke 12: 16-21 - The Rich Fool
Matthew 13: 24-30, 36-43 - Parable of the Weeds
Matthew 22: 1-14 - The Wedding Feast
Luke 10: 29-37 - The Good Samaritan
Matthew 18: 21-35 - The Unforgiving Servant
Gus I want to thank you very much for the retreat yesterday. Thanks so much for sharing your personal story you are so right we all have one. My God continue to bless you and you family. Will see you again on the radio. Mike
Today I chose the parable of the Good Samaritan simply for the fact that these past few day on my pilgrimage I have had the Holy Spirit provide me with three Samaritans who have been by my side and and who have shown the love and assistance that was shown to the beaten victim in the Good Samaritan parable.
