Last weekend, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker gave a commencement address at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. In it, he talked about a lot of hot button issues, including abortion, cultural Catholicism, gender ideology and related it all to traditional Catholicism and encouraging the graduates to embrace it. It stirred up a lot of anger among progressives, especially when he encouraged women to embrace motherhood and homemaking. Gus plays his commencement address in its entirety.
Also, Fr. Patrick Mary Briscoe, O.P. calls in to talk about the Dominican Rosary Pilgrimage on September 28th in Washington D.C. He talks about the pilgrimage route, the theme and things that will take place during the pilgrimage, including confession and the unveiling of a new statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which will lead the procession. He also shares a little of his vocation story and today’s feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church.
