Yesterday was the Feast of St. Augustine. One tradition Gus likes to do is read from TAN Books' Augustine Day-By-Day. It's a book of 365 collected pearls of wisdom written by St. Augustine. Gus invites listeners to call in and give him a date so he can pass along some Augustine wisdom for the day.
Also, today is the Feast of the Passion of St. John the Baptist. Gus reads a piece by John Grondelski from Crisis Magazine entitled "When Did John Lose His Head," which talks about the legacy of St. John the Baptist and how outspoken he was during his short time on Earth and transposes it to the immorality we see in our culture today that is tolerated.
