Gus talks about yesterday's Conversion Corner segment with Keith Nester and recounts the moment that triggered his conversion to the Catholic Church. He was a youth minister and was looking to have some graphics work done for it. He struck up a friendship with the printer he contracted and he happened to be a practicing, Jesus-loving, Bible-believing Catholic. As a lifelong evangelical, he had trouble processing this as he was always told that Catholics didn't worship Jesus and didn't read the Bible. This friendship planted the seed for his conversion. He asks listeners he either converted or reverted to Catholicism to call in and talk about the event or moment that triggered their change.
Also, Gus reads a disturbing article published by Christian News Network where BBC reporter Hilary Andersson interviews a Maryland abortion doctor, Leroy Carhart, who has a unique approach to his practice. In his Wildwood Medical Center brochure, which reads "Many patients request a remembrance of their baby to take home with them," and "Every family approaches this experience with their own unique, emotional, spiritual and cultural background. There is no right or wrong way, just 'your way.'" Further along, in the interview, he happily admits that the baby has no input in the decision to abort him or her. He also states that he has no problem killing a baby and likens the dead child in the womb to "meat in a crock pot." Carhart does say that he's religious, previously attended a Methodist church and is affiliated with a group called Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.
And it wouldn't be a Seize the Day Friday without a little Prayer Time.
