Today is the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua who Gus calls one of the Top 5 busiest intercessors in heaven. He’s the patron saint of lost and stolen items and there’s a famous short prayer many people say in various forms that basically goes, “Tony, Tony, turn around, something’s lost that can’t be found.” St. Anthony was also a Franciscan friar and Fr. Thomas Conway, OFM of the St. Anthony of Padua Shrine in Boston, Massachusetts calls in to talk about the saint’s life and legacy. He also shares his vocation story and talks about the shrine and its purpose. He also shares his own St. Anthony intercession story and how the shrine is celebrating today, which is by giving away St. Anthony bread.
Later, in the spirit of today’s feast day, Gus invites listeners to call in and share their St. Anthony of Padua stories where they lost something, prayed for his intercession and found it.
And today is Friday, so Gus dedicates some Prayer Time with listeners.
