Today’s alternate feast in the liturgy is the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. St. Paul calls it the name that is above every name, but many people take it in vain out of frustration, excitement and other emotions not based in reverence. Gus talks about what he does whenever he hears someone do it, which is a quiet prayer, and invites listeners to call in and share what they do.

Also, Gus is joined by Rob Judge, the executive director of the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first American-born canonized saint. Her feast day is tomorrow, so Rob shares her incredible story before talking about their brand-new exhibit that features that papal bull declaring her a saint and displays of other saints that are on the path to sainthood and previews their September 14th.

And since today is Friday, Gus engages in some Prayer Time with listeners and reads and reflects on some of the writings of St. Augustine of Hippo for Friday w/the Fathers.
