Today is the day of the March for Life and, unfortunately, the in-person rally has been cancelled because of COVID protocol and recent violence that has taken place in Washington D.C. Seize the Day annually broadcast from the media tent backstage and Gus talks with the myriad of guests and speakers and people who are in attendance from around the country and the world and, even though we can't do that this year, Gus dedicates today's show to the March for Life and has several leaders of the pro-life movement on. Gus welcomes Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie, senior policy advisor at the Catholic Association, to talk about the challenges a Joe Biden administration presents to the child in the womb.
Later, Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, calls in from a "lifechain" in Alexandra, Virginia to talk about the growing number of millennials and Generation Z who support the pro-life movement. She and Gus also talk about Joe Biden's desire to codify Roe v. Wade and eliminate the Hyde Amendment, which prevents taxpayer-funded abortion.
We also hear from Sister Veritas of the Sisters of Life who calls in to talk about their ministry, part of which offers outreach to women in a crisis pregnancy. She also shares with Gus and the listeners her faith journey, how she came to the Sisters of Life and what daily life is like in her order.
Lastly, we hear from Shawn Carney, founder and president of 40 Days for Life, calls in to talk about this special day as well as his organization, what it is, how it got started and what it does to evangelize the dignity of the human person in the womb.
And, it's Friday so Gus dedicates time to pray with listeners.
