Today is the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington D.C. and although Gus isn't there physically, he's there in spirit and leads a pro-life themed show beginning with pro-life advocate superstar Abby Johnson. She calls in from the March for Life to talk about why it’s important we still march to end abortion. She also shares her story of how she went from being a Planned Parenthood manager to outspoken pro-life advocate, which was turned into a best-selling book and movie, and the current state of the pro-life movement in this post-Dobbs decision era. She tells Gus that we went from one federal fight to 50 state fights. And she talks with Gus about her new children’s book, “What’s in Mommy’s Tummy?”
Later, Robyn Chambers, vice president of Advocacy for Children at Focus on the Family calls in. She talks about her pro-life ministry and how she got involved. She also talks about the March for Life and how it’s important we continue to march until abortion is not only illegal, but not even a consideration in our culture.
Also, Gus throws a bit of a curveball in today's edition of Friday w/the Fathers by reading and reflecting on St. Francis de Sales, the saint whose feast we celebrate today. Although he’s not considered one of the early Church fathers, St. Francis de Sales, who lived in the 16th and 17th centuries, is considered one of the greatest spiritual fathers in Church history. Gus reads selections from his famous book, “Introduction to the Devout Life.”
And it's Friday so Gus engages in some Prayer Time with listeners.
