Bishop Robert Strickland calls in to the program to talk about the Catholic Family Conference, which takes place on Saturday May 1st, in which he'll be a featured speaker along with Cardinal George Pell. He also talks about Veritatis Splendor, a physical and spiritual home for Catholics and Christians that's being built in Texas and is in the middle of constructing an oratory dedicated to St. Joseph.

Gus is joined in the Conversion Corner by Dr. Ryan McDermott, founder of the Beatrice Institute. Ryan tells Gus that his parents were hippies in the Jesus Movement and was born in a commune. After they left, they checked out various Protestant churches until settling on the Lutheran denomination. Though he had Catholic cousins, and did experience mass a few times as a kid, he didn't really encounter the Catholic faith until college. He shares with Gus and the listeners his story into the faith.

Gus opens up this week's installment of Friday with the Fathers where he begins St. Irenaeus' " Against Heresies," written in the 2nd century A.D. St. Irenaeus a disciple of St. Polycarp who was a disciple of St. John the Apostle.

And it wouldn't be Friday without Prayer Time with listeners.
