Today's Gospel reading from Mark 4 is the Parable of the Sower. It is one that is very near to my heart, as it sparked my Seeds of Grace talks. We, like the sower, must be sowers of the seeds of grace everywhere we go.
At the end of His explanation, Jesus says, "But those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit thirty and sixty and a hundredfold."
Can you imagine if you made a financial investment and it returned 30x? How about 60x? Wouldn't a return of 100x be life changing? That's just money. Do we feel the same way about faith? I believe God wants to see those kinds of returns. (See the parable of the talents if you doubt me.) But those kind of returns will not come unless we hear the word and accept it and bear fruit. So today, grow closer to God. Sow seeds. Bear fruit. God will multiply more that we can imagine!
Father, may we sow seeds of grace into the world today, that they may bear great fruit - 30x and 60x and 100x. Amen.
