Dr. Matthew Bunson of EWTN joins Gus to talk a little Catholic news, including the tragic shooting at an all-school mass at Annunciation School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by a deranged gunman who took his own life after this horrific act. His name was Robin Westman, a biological male, who identified as a female and took the name “Robin.” He left behind a manifesto expressing his hatred for Christians, Jews and Donald Trump and his desire to murder children. He and Gus discuss all that as well as the reaction by many politicians and media people; some of whom used it as an opportunity to criticize prayerful responses. Afterwards, the conclude with the good news of the canonization mass for Blessed Carlo Acustis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati this weekend in Rome by Pope Leo XIV. They were supposed to be officially canonized back in April, but it was delayed because of the death of Pope Francis.

Afterwards, Gus talks some more about the gunman who shot up the school church in Minnesota, Robin Westman, and how he believes he was seduced by the wiles of the devil. He talks about how people in the news like to assign blame, particularly to guns, but Gus points an accusatory finger at the mental health community, who’ve been trying to convince the public for years that gender dysphoria is not a mental illness. Even though this happened a week ago, Gus was away and didn’t cover it, so he invites listeners to call in and talk about it with him.

Also, Dr. Christopher Kaczor calls in to talk about his new book, “Is Belief Believable? Reasoning About God from Plato and Aquinas to C.S. Lewis and Jordan Peterson,” available from Ave Maria Press. He shares with Gus how the origins of this book came from the conversations he’s had in his classrooms with students, who have all different sorts of beliefs and many who believe that faith and reason are incompatible. Here, Christopher challenges that notion by drawing from philosophy, theology and psychology, and offers clear and compelling arguments that address skepticism head-on.

And today is the Feast of St. Gregory the Great, pope. Gus spends most of his first segment sharing the beloved saint’s life and legacy, including Gregorian chant, which is still part of the Church today, and why it is attributed to him.

St. Gregory, pray for us!

This event is purely evil driven and the resolution must be purely religiously value based. If you have not seen the short video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv_K4Xx2LsY, it explains it all. Gun control by it’s nature only strips guns from law abiders, leaving innocent defenseless and causing GREATER chaos. God bless you Gus.
