Hurricane Milton has inched ever closer to Tampa and Gus shares his concern with his listeners. Although he’s safe in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, he is worried about his home and his family who are still down there. He’s joined by Justin Butts who lost nearly everything in Hurricane Harvey, which ravaged the Houston area back in 2017. He talks to Gus about what he and his family went through before, during and after the storm and how it impacted his faith. He talks about how, after the dust settled, this terrible incident only strengthened him, his marriage and his family farm. Afterwards, Gus talks more about his anxieties regarding the impending hurricane and wonders aloud whether or not his concern has turned to worry. There are plenty of Scripture quotes and wise sayings from saints about the ineffectiveness of worrying, so Gus asks if concern and worry are the same thing. He gets feedback from a few listeners.
Later, Gus goes over a few pro-life news updates, including the state of Georgia Supreme Court reinstating the six-week Heartbeat Law and the U.S. Supreme Court declining to hear the Biden Administration’s appeal over their Emergency Room Abortions case. Gus also talks about Amendment 4 in Florida, which expands abortion access and other states with abortion access on the ballot.
