Tomorrow, a new faith-based film is being released by GND Media Group and Fathom Events called “Average Joe,” starring Eric Close and Amy Acker. It tells the story of high school football coach Joe Kennedy who was fired from his job for kneeling on the 50-yard line at the end of games and saying a prayer. Joe ended up suing the school district and it ended up in the U.S. Supreme Court where he won. Joe and producer Bob Katz join Gus to tell the story and the impact it had on his life, marriage and relationships.
Also, Hurricane Milton made landfall last night and the damage it’s done to Tampa and points south. Initial reports have been fair, showing plenty of structural damage, but loss to human life appears to have been somewhat mitigated by the evacuation. Both of his daughters and their families are OK. His oldest daughter Emily didn’t even lose power. Gus talks about the fear factor that comes along with being in a hurricane or being away from one that’s affecting your home. He asks listeners what was the most frightened they’ve ever been and where was God during it.
And Bob Dunning calls in to talk about the impact of Hurricane Milton on the state of Florida and recap Alabama’s horrendous loss to Vanderbilt last week. They also pick winners of this weekend’s biggest matchups, including Iowa v. Washington, Oklahoma v. Texas, USC v. Penn State, LSU v. Ole Miss and Ohio State v. Oregon.
