Dr. Matthew Bunson of EWTN News calls in to go over a few news items of Catholic interest, including the breakdown of the Catholic vote in last week’s presidential election. Yesterday, after the first full day meeting at the USCCB November Meetings, the bishops said they will “speak loudly” if President-elect Trump’s mass deportation plan takes effect in a way that undermines human dignity. Dr. Bunson also provides an update on the Synod on Synodality as it winds down in Rome and he and Gus also discuss the resignation of the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, over his handling of clergy sexual abuse cases.

Afterwards, Gus asks listeners to call in and give their thoughts on mass deportation. It was one of the key issues of President-elect Donald Trump’s winning campaign and his strategy polled favorably. One of the key tenets of the Catholic faith is welcoming the immigrant, so Gus asks listeners to call in and talk about how they feel about this issue.
