Yesterday, Pope Francis announced that he will be consecrating Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday, March 25th. Gus talks about the announcement and the history of the Blessed Virgin Mary's urge for the consecration of Russia since her appearance on Fatima in 1917. In fact, it was part of her Second Secret shown only to popes until it was revealed publicly in 1941. In 1984, Pope John Paul II consecrated Russia and the world, which over the years has been criticized by some as not meeting the requirements of the Virgin Mary's wishes.

The archbishop of Lviv, Ukraine has urged the faithful to join in a Novena for Peace in Ukraine beginning tomorrow, March 17th, and concluding on the day of the consecration. If you'd like to be part of the worldwide novena, click on this link for the prayer.

Later, Dr. Jennifer Frey, a convert from atheism and a professor of philosophy at the University of South Carolina joins Gus in the Conversion Corner and shares her faith journey.

And, it's the second week of Lent and Gus invites listeners to call in and grade how their Lents are going so far.
