This past Saturday was the feast of St. Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei. Years ago, one of Gus' running buddies, who was a member of Opus Dei, gave Gus a book of 999 quotes from the saint called "The Way." It's a tradition this time every year for Gus to play "The Way" Roulette and he continues it. He invites listeners to call in and pick a number between 1 and 999 and dispenses a little nugget of wisdom from St. Josemaría Escrivá that they can ruminate on throughout the day.
Also, Catholic author Kendra Tierney calls in to talk about her new book, "The Catholic All Year Prayer Companion: The Liturgical Year in Practice." Kendra tells Gus that the main focus of the book is that people can use the Catholic liturgical calendar to form or enhance their prayer life.
And Gus takes a few minutes to read Bishop Bob Barron's opinion piece that recently appeared in the NY Post where he calls for true dialogue between pro-life Catholics and pro-choice Catholic Democrat politicians over abortion. Bishop Barron states that authentic dialogue involves a little give and take on both sides.
Hello Gus – Could you tell me if the US Catholic Bishops have already met and made their decision on communion restrictions. Thank you Deborah
