Attorney Jeffrey Trissell calls in to talk about his new book, “Unlocking the Churches: The Legal Victory Against California’s Pandemic-Era Religious Discrimination,” available from Sophia Institute Press. Jeffrey revisits to lockdowns that were instituted in the early days of the COVID pandemic, which went from 2020 to 2021 and examines California’s harsh, inconsistent measures. Worship was not considered essential, even though strip clubs and liquor stores were, and indoor and outdoor gatherings were banned, that is, until the George Floyd protests. Jeffrey provides a firsthand perspective as he was on the legal team that resulted two wins in the lower courts in California and a permanent injunction against Gavin Newsom, the professed Catholic governor of California.

Also, today is Gus’ brother Gary’s birthday and for the next few weeks, both will be the same age. They’re Irish twins, which are babies in the same family who were born one year or less apart. Gus invites listeners to call in and talk about the Irish twins in their families.

And Gus gives a True Confession about the games he plays on his phone, which are solitaire and crossword puzzles, and invites listeners to call and share which ones they play.
