Gus is joined by Lincoln Snyder, president and CEO of the National Catholic Education Association, to talk about Catholic Schools Week, which is this week. He also talks about the incredible enrollment uptick Catholic schools have received over the course of the pandemic mostly attributed to their commitment to in-person learning. Later, in honor of Catholic Schools Week, Gus invites listeners to call in and share their Catholic school experiences.

Also, today is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, also known as Candlemas. It celebrates when the Blessed Virgin Mary presented herself in the temple 40 days after the birth of Jesus in order to be purified. For centuries, the Catholic Church has blessed candles on this day, giving in the name Candlemas, because it symbolizes Christ being the light to the nations. Gus invites listeners to call in and talk about articles they've had blessed.

And, Gus updates a news story about Louisville, Kentucky police officer Matthew Schrenger who was suspended with pay last year because he was seen praying outside an abortion clinic. Although he was in uniform, Officer Schrenger did cover himself with an overcoat. He was awarded a $75,000 settlement from the city for violating his Constitutional right to free speech.
