Gus is joined by Dr. Grattan Brown, the director of mission and ministry at the St. John Paul II Shrine in Washington D.C., to talk about their new Shroud of Turin exhibit that will be on display beginning on Ash Wednesday and all through Lent. He goes into the nuts and bolts of the shroud and the exhibit and talks about many of the other interesting items on display that can bolster a visitor’s faith.

Also, earlier this week, Gus read and reflected on a USCCB document entitled "A Catholic Primer on In Vitro Fertilization," which explains and reinforces the Catholic Church’s teaching on in vitro fertilization. Today, he invites listeners who’ve struggled with fertility to come on and share their stories.

And this past Monday was the Feast of St. Scholastica, hermit and sister of St. Benedict of Nursia, the father of Western monasticism. The most famous story told about her was when her brother came to visit her for a few hours. When he got ready to leave, she begged him to stay longer, but he said he had to get back to the monastery. She prayed to God that something would happen to keep him from leaving and a bad thunderstorm quickly descended upon them, which forced him to stay there another day or two. As he was heading back to the monastery, she died, and St. Benedict witnessed her soul ascend to heaven. Gus asks listeners to call in if they have a spiritually close sibling and share their stories.
