Gus is joined in the Conversion Corner by Matthew McWorter, a former atheist who just published a new book called “Canon Crossfire: Does the Protestant Bible Blow Up the Case for Christianity?” In it, Matthew, a retired attorney, cross-examines the Church fathers used to support the Protestant canon theory and shows that these early voices of faith did not reject Susanna, Baruch and other books/figures rejected by the Protestant Bible to make his argument that their philosophy collapses under its own weight. Matthew also shares his own faith journey with Gus.
And Gus breaks out his Bible and plays a couple rounds of Proverbs Roulette. It's essentially the same thing as Bible Roulette, where he provides a set of specific page numbers and asks listeners to call in with their number, and he picks a random passage for them to meditate on. Today, he does it with the Book of Proverbs and dispenses some of the wisdom of King Solomon.
