The implementation of the Texas Heartbeat Bill has sparked a range of reaction from the president and other pro-abortion politicians to pro-life groups and Church leaders. One of those leaders, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, once again raised the issue of ex-communication for abortion advocates in an Op-Ed piece published in the Washington Post on Sunday. Once again, the archbishop reminds readers that ex-communication is not an act of punishment but an act of love to bring Catholics back to the fold and cites the late New Orleans Archbishop Joseph Rummel who, in 1962, at the height of the Civil Rights Movement, ex-communicated three prominent New Orleans civic leaders who openly opposed integration. Gus reads the piece and invites listeners to call in and give their opinions.
Also, since we're still in the midst of COVID and the Delta Variant, Gus talks about how it's affected vacations and, in his case, pilgrimages. Gus invites listeners to call in who took a vacation and share where they went.
And since we weren't live on Labor Day, Gus moves his Monday staple, Tell Me Something Good, to today.
