Bishop David Toups, of the Diocese of Beaumont, Texas, calls in. Bishop Toups was consecrated bishop one month ago and his first act was to close the parishes, schools and order an evacuation of all priests in preparation for Hurricane Laura. Gus has known Bishop Toups since he was a seminarian and, during our pre-taped shows back in the early days of the pandemic, appeared as a guest weekly.
Later, Gus talks about how he and his wife are separated. She is in Ohio for a month, taking care of her elderly mother and he is in Tampa. He invites listeners to call in who've been in long-distance relationship and talk about what that experience was like.
And, in honor of today's First Reading from the Book of Proverbs, Gus plays a little Proverbs Roulette with listeners.
Hi! Is it possible for you to post the testimonial given about distancing in marriage including the way to heal the brokenness?
Your caller was so very clear, humble and hopeful about his own rebirth to being a better spouse.
Could you please post a transcript of your conversation w this gentleman?! It’s very good brotherly support & advice in Jesus’ name. Thank you.
