Gus took this past Friday and Monday off and he talks about what he and Michelle did, including visiting their son John in Jacksonville, Florida and going bowling. He also talks about going to a confession service at his parish this past Lent where a visiting priest was hearing confessions, recognized him, and greeted him with "Good morning, child of God." Gus says that it spurred him to make Good Morning Child of God coffee mugs.
Later, after Tell Me Something Good, Gus talks about some of the public reaction to the leak of the draft of the Dobbs decision in the Supreme Court, which would overturn Roe v. Wade. There have been acts of desecration, a stolen tabernacle in one church in Katy, Texas, vandalism of churches and crisis pregnancy centers. Gus talks about how this type of reaction was not unexpected and warned that it'll probably get worse if this alleged decision does, in fact, ring true.
And we continue our Conversion Corner: Harvard Series with Katie Cabrera, a freshman at Harvard University, who shares her recent conversion story with Gus. She grew up in a home where her father was Catholic, and her mother was an evangelical Protestant. Growing up, she mostly went to church with her mother but, over time, came to feel that the latter didn't emphasize God's mercy and love, but she didn't recognize that in her father's faith until she encountered Catholic students at Harvard. She tells Gus the rest of the story.
