Today is the fifth anniversary of the election of Pope Francis. Gus reads an article about the slight wane in the popularity of Pope Francis from the Pew Research Center and asks listeners to call in and give their feedback on how they think the pope is doing and if their opinion of him has changed over the last five years.
Also, Gus talks more about the Sacrament of Confession and asks listeners why they think it's not offered more at most parishes and why many people no longer go.
Thought you might like to know that our parish, St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catholic Center on the campus of Purdue University has confessions 7 days per week! Yes even on Sunday, before morning masses and afternoon ones! Recently we had 24 hours of confession from 1 am Friday March 9 til 1 am Saturday March 10th. The sacrament is alive and well here in Indiana. And not only college students avail themselves of the opportunity. Thank God for the Dominicans we have at our parish.
