Dr. Melanie Barrett joins Gus in the Conversion Corner. She grew up in the Jewish faith, which came from her parents, that they later transformed into the New Age Movement, which she adopted. She talks about journey to the Catholic faith which began when she visited a Catholic church. Her story is chronicled in the new Ignatius book "By Strange Ways: Theologians and Their Paths to the Catholic Church."
Also, Gus talks about holy cards and ones he came across during the Great Purge. One that Michelle found recently is of a painting of Jesus where he looks very Caucasian and rosy cheeked and Gus says it doesn't match his image of Jesus at all. His image matches more of the Man in the Shroud. He invites listeners to call in and share what their image of Jesus looks like.
