The other day, Gus and Michelle got one of those dreaded text messages from their bank, telling them that one of their credit cards had been compromise. Somebody was trying to use it to make fraudulent purchases. At first, Gus thought it was a scam, but, after talking with his bank, discovered it was real. Fortunately, the bank flagged it, did not authorized the purchase, cancelled the card and issued Gus and Michelle new ones. Gus invites listeners to call in if they’ve ever been scammed and share their stories.

Also, Gus gives the latest health update on Pope Francis who continues to be treated at Gemelli Hospital in Rome for double pneumonia. He also welcomes Catholic Answers apologist Joe Heschmeyer to talk about Pope Francis. In addition to the his health issues, he and Gus also discuss what happens next if/when Pope Francis dies.

And we hear from David Bereit, the executive director of the Life Leadership Conference, who calls in to talk about their new $30 million Pro-Life Venture Fund to protect the unborn. The conference was announced earlier this month and David shares with Gus their strategies of building membership, creating channels of communication among pro-life groups and managing a budget that can produce gatherings, conduct research and institute new pro-life campaigns.

I believe it was this show where you were giving away rosaries and had a caller who wanted one (he said it didn’t have to be from the Holy Land). He just wanted it because he felt called to do the Rosary. He wasn’t Catholic. Well, I want to be the first to welcome him to the Catholic Church because whether you are aware or not, the pull you feel is God letting you know where you need to be. I am a new convert, and I felt the same pull (in a different way) in 2021, I converted, and I LOVE the Catholic religion. I don’t know what I am doing, but God is still pulling me, and I love it. Welcome and enjoy the ride; it is so fruitful.
