Gus talks about two faith-based ads that aired during the Super Bowl. The first is the “He Gets Us” ad with the foot washing depictions and the second was the Hallow App, which featured actors Mark Wahlberg and Jonathan Roumie. A 30-second Super Bowl ad in the first quarter sold for @ $7 million and 60 second sold for @ $14 million. The former ad has generated a lot of discussion and, for the latter, the president of Hallow stated that they got the most downloads in one minute than any time in their history. That makes it an incredibly good investment. Gus invites listeners to call in and talk about whether or not the price is worth it.
Also, Fr. Leo Patalinghug calls in. It’s his first appearance on the show since before Christmas. After talking about his trip to the Philippines, he and Gus talk about several aspects of Lent, including Friday abstinence, giving things up and taking things on.
And
Ash Wednesday is tomorrow and that kicks off the Lenten season. Gus invites listeners to call in and share what they’re planning to do as their Lenten penance and offers some suggestions.
