Today is the Feast of the Transfiguration and Gus talks about the importance of that event in the life of Christ and shares stories of the Mount of Transfiguration in Israel.
Gus recently got warned about a scam using his pastor's name in his parish email. He talks about scams and listeners call in to talk about scams they have fallen for or heard of.
And Justin Hibbard joins Gus in the Conversion Corner. Justin grew up in the Seventh Day Baptist church and became Catholic just a few years ago. You can follow him at whycatholic.substack.com.
Hi Gus,
Frequent listener.
Your commentary about Novak Djokovic hit me in an uncomfortable way.
I am a huge tennis fan. I have followed his career throughout. He holds all the records. No doubt his tennis ability could make him arguably the GOAT if statistics are all that makes a GOAT and they might.
I’d like to address your comments about his making the sign of the cross at the Olympics. He does this often upon winning if not always.
He is also arguably one of the most adversarial players to his opponents and the fans.
He has long been one to display very questionable on court behaviors.
I would never question his depth of faith, but I would not say he leads with his faith as was what I felt was being implied on the 8/8 broadcast.
Just a thought.
