Gus reads a letter issued this past Sunday by Pope Francis and addressed to all the priests of the world, telling them to remain faithful in light of the global clergy sex abuse scandal. The pope refers to this current time as a time of ecclesial purification. Gus encourages listeners to pray for priests and, this Sunday, tell them thank you. Encouraged by Pope Francis' letter to priests, Gus asks listeners what makes a good priest and if there's a particular priest they'd like to spotlight.

Later, Gus reads an article out of the Salt Lake Tribune, where a priest, Fr. Erik Richtsteig was assigned to be the new pastor at St. Ambrose Church in Salt Lake City and has faced mounting protests by several of the parishioners over his social media postings. Many have expressed concern and/or outrage at what they referred to as "anti-LGBTQ, anti-women and pro-assault rifle." Several have even petitioned the bishop not to assign him, a request he denied. Gus asks listeners if priests should be on social media.
