Gus reads and reflects on an article that appeared recently on Catholic News Agency’s website entitled “A ‘Silent Majority’ of U.S. Catholics Support Trump’s Immigration Enforcement Efforts.” Afterward, he invites listeners to call in and give their opinion on the Trump Administration’s mass deportation efforts and strategies.
Later, Bob Dunning calls in to talk a little college football with Gus and they start with the firing of LSU head coach Brian Kelly this past Sunday. They also talk about which coaches might be next. They wrap up by picking the winners of this weekend's biggest games.
A sad comment on the moral bankruptcy of a “silent majority”.

We are also governed by the rules of our faith. Clearly, our Lord is in accord with the establishment of rules for our lives. Remember the words of Jesus himself “Render unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God”
Nations are intended to be sovereign entities and are obliged to protect their borders and in so doing protect the citizens in their care.
The duly elected government of the United States of America, regardless of party affiliation, is obliged under the Constitution that they take an oath to uphold, to guard and protect our borders.
Immigration is a valuable and necessary process for any nation to encourage, but there is a process, a process that has been enforced for hundreds of years. If the process is too slow, too cumbersome, the people can elect to change it. Until then….
entering our country illegally is a crime and our leaders, Democrat, Republican, Independent or any other label are obligated to uphold the law.
As a Catholic Democrat, I believe peaceful immigrants should be supported.I am active in living a life of social justice.i believe A Catholic cannot practice our Faith while permitting the injustice ICE agents wild against folks who have committed the misdemeanor of not being an undocumented immigrant.
