Today is the Feast of St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, a 17th-century French Visitation Nun who had visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and helped spread devotion to it. Gus talks about his own experience with what he believes was Jesus’ Sacred Heart when he was going through the intense physical pain of shingles. He talks about how there’s a special place in Jesus’ heart for those who suffer, and everybody suffers at some point. Gus invites listeners who’ve gone through suffering that’s benefited them spiritually to call in and share their stories.

Later, Bob Dunning calls in to talk a little college football with Gus, including Penn State’s firing of James Franklin after losing their third game in a row. They entered the season as the #2 team in the country. They talk about other coaches on the hot seat, including Luke Fickell at Wisconsin and Jonathan Smith at Michigan State. Afterward, they talk about Indiana’s big win over Oregon and predict the winners of this weekend’s biggest games.

I missed the Thursday, October 16 show, so when I heard the next day that faith and works were explained on the Thursday show I tried to go back on my SiriusXM app but Thursday the 16th isn’t there. The 14th, 15, and 17th are there, but, sorry to discover, not the 16th.
