In today's First Reading from the Book of Revelation, St. John tells us that our prayers "rise like incense in heaven." Gus talks about his prayer life and how it's changed over the years. He also shares that he has good days and bad. He invites listeners to call in and share how their prayer life has changed.
Later, Gus goes over some news of Catholic interest, including all the elections and appointments that came out of the USCCB November Meetings, which concluded yesterday. He also talks about the U.S. Senate advancing the Respect for Marriage Act, which is a same-sex marriage bill that hinders religious freedom. Gus reads a piece that addresses that act written by Cardinal Timothy Dolan. Gus wraps it up with a final story out of the USCCB November Meetings where the bishops decided not to rewrite their voting guide, "Faithful Citizenship," until after the 2024 election.
And, finally, Bob Dunning calls in to talk about this weekend's slate of games as well as next weekend', which is Rivalry Week, since Gus will be off. They pick winners and discuss a few other items where Gus makes the startling discovery that Bob's choice of coffee is Taster's Choice instant coffee.

While letters such as that written by Cardinal Dolan are to applauded, the fact is that politicians included the called Catholic ones ignore them. These politicians ,especially those at the top, need to be held accountable . Sadly, they never are.
