Leo was leading a pilgrimage in Rome during Pope Francis’ funeral, as it was originally scheduled to attend Blessed Carlo Acutis’ canonization mass. He talks about how Rome was abuzz during his time there with everyone asking who will be the next pope? He shares his reaction when Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope, was announced and what he expects his papacy to be like. Also, Gus asks him what kind of meal he would prepare for the pope if he had the opportunity.
