Fr. Leo Patalinghug calls in to talk with Gus about churches still coming back from COVID, how Lent is going, and whether or not it is sinful to break your Lenten fast?
Later, Gus talks about some important Catholic news stories, including a church in Maryland whose tabernacle, with the Eucharist inside it, and other things were stolen. He also shares a similar story that occurred in Santiago, Chile. Also, in Finland, a Christian Member of Parliament, Paivi Rasanen, was acquitted of a hate crime for Tweeting a Bible verse about marriage being between one man and one woman.
He also talks about going to a penance service at his parish earlier this week and picked up and Examination of Conscience brochure based off the Ten Commandments. As he was reading it, Gus became troubled because the brochure, which was published by the Archdiocese of Washington D.C., listed the ninth and tenth commandments with politically correct, non-gender specific terms.
And, this past Monday, during our Tell Me Something Good segment, Gus heard from a woman who shared that her daughter had returned to the faith after several years of prayer. Gus invites listeners who've returned to the Catholic faith and who was an influential person who helped in their faith journey. Gus also hears from people who helped someone else find the Catholic faith.

I like the quote from Fr. Leo Patalinghug: “Read the black—and do the red.”

    Thank you, Fr. Leo!

    Subject: 9th and 10th commandments

    Gus,
You need to check out the 10 commandments of the Church of England.

    The Commandments

I am the Lord your God: you shall have no other gods but me.
You shall not make for yourself any idol.
You shall not dishonour the name of the Lord your God.
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.
    Honour your father and mother.
    You shall not commit murder.
    You shall not commit adultery.
    You shall not steal.
You shall not be a false witness.
You shall not covet anything which belongs to your neighbour.
