Gus begins today's show eulogizing two celebrities who impacted his life who passed away yesterday; TV pitchman Ron Popeil and ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill. ZZ Top was his first concert experience back in 1975 at Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio. Gus always had a desire to become a TV pitchman and was highly influenced by people like Ron Popeil, Billy Mays and others.
Gus honors Dusty by inviting listeners to call in and share their first concert experience and honors Ron by asking listeners to call in and share if they've ever purchased anything pitched on TV.
Later, Bob Dunning calls in to talk about the major movements taking place in the world of college football, including the new Name, Image and Likeness deal for players and the possibility of more conference realignment with Texas and Oklahoma possibly leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. Bob and Gus also talk about the Tokyo Olympics.
