Today is the Feast of St. James the Greater, apostle. Gus talks about his connection him and how it came about when he walked the Camino de Santiago, also known as “The Way of St. James.” He invites listeners to call in and talk about a saint with whom they have a special connection.
Later, Fr. Jason Charron joins Gus once again, this time in the Conversion Corner. We had him on about a week-and-a-half ago because he was the priest who gave the invocation at the Donald Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania where there was an assassination attempt on the former president. It was a quick conversation, only around 10 minutes, where Gus asked Fr. Jason to give an abridged version of his vocation story and it was fascinating. Gus asked Fr. Jason to come back soon to share his conversion and vocation story and that’s what he does here.
And Bob Dunning calls in to talk with Gus about the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, which open tomorrow in Paris, France. They talk about some odd games like the shot put and the hammer throw and Gus asks Bob what his top three favorite Olympic sports are.
St. James, pray for us!
Did anyone catch the prayer that Father Charon referenced? I think it was an eastern prayer or Eastern saint that said “the prayer of someone who doesn’t consider themselves to be a sinner is not accepted by God” or something like that?
